How to save YouTube videos using VidToDisk (Freeware!)

What is VidToDisk?

VidToDisk is a freeware program by Komawi Development with which you can save (download) and convert YouTube videos, just by watching it, to the following formats:

* DivX (.avi)
* Windows Media Video (.wmv)
* Wave audio (.wav)
* MP3 (.mp3)

How it works

1. Make sure VidToDisk is running (can be minimized).
2. Watch a video on YouTube as you normally do.
3. VidToDisk will add the video to a list as soon as it is fully loaded (progressbar under the video on YouTube is full).
4. VidToDisk converts all videos in the list.
5. After the conversion, the file is on your computer.

Even if you like to determine when your computer is doing what, VidToDisk is the program for you. You can decide yourself if VidToDisk:

* Starts up automatically at login.
* Automatically starts seeking not converted videos after VidToDisk started.
* Must add currently watched videos to the conversion list.
* Must convert clip immediately, or per your manual request.

Additional features

* VidToDisk can be minimized to a taskbar icon next to your clock. This way VidToDisk will bother you the least possible.
* You can use VidToDisk to generate a playlist which can be played by Windows MediaPlayer, just by a single click on a button.
* You don’t need to actually play or watch the video on YouTube. You can pause the video on YouTube and leave it like that. Then you can open another browser window and simultaneously load another video. You can do this with several videos at a time. This way you really get to download a lot of videos in a short period of time.
